The Pantry — Privacy Policy

The Pantry is a small app for keeping track of what's in your kitchen pantry — what you have, how much is left, and what's running low. It is built to hold as little data as possible, and none of it ever reaches us.

What the app stores

The only data the app creates is the pantry inventory you enter: item names, categories, quantities, units, and low-stock thresholds. The app collects no personal information — no accounts, no profiles, no contact details, no location.

Where your data lives

Your pantry is stored in your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit service, tied to the Apple ID signed in on your device. We operate no servers of our own and have no ability to read, access, or recover your data. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Sharing

A pantry is visible only to its owner unless the owner explicitly invites someone through iCloud sharing. An invited person can view and edit the shared pantry until they leave the share or the owner stops sharing. No one else — including us — can see it.

What we don't do

• No analytics or usage tracking
• No advertising
• No third-party SDKs or data sharing with third parties
• No selling of data — there is nothing to sell

Notifications

Low-stock alerts are generated on your device. The app uses Apple's silent push notifications only to learn that pantry data changed; these contain no readable content.

Deleting your data

You can delete individual items in the app at any time. To remove everything, delete the app's iCloud data from Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on your device. If you joined someone else's pantry, leaving the share removes your access.

Children

The Pantry is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date above.
